Who Is Dr. McGuire?
Dr. Taylor P. McGuire, DDS (Honours), MSc, BSc, FRCD(C), Dip. ABOMS is a dual-board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon based in Ottawa, Ontario. He is a senior partner at Argyle Associates, Chief and Division Head of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Ottawa Hospital, an attending surgeon at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Ottawa.

Biography & Training
Dr. McGuire completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (summa) at the University of Ottawa, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery with honours from the University of Toronto. He then undertook a General Practice Residency and surgical internship at Toronto General Hospital before entering a combined Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesia at the University of Toronto.
During his OMFS residency, Dr. McGuire completed a Master of Science in Neurophysiology, with research focused on lingual nerve repair. Following residency, he completed a one-year, fully accredited fellowship in Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle and affiliated centres in Columbus, Mississippi and Atlanta, Georgia.
After his fellowship, Dr. McGuire held a full-time academic appointment as Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he trained residents in facial cosmetic, orthognathic, and trauma surgery. He subsequently returned to Ottawa, joining Argyle Associates and taking on hospital leadership and academic roles at The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa.
